Christmas is nearly upon us (Hooray!) and with it comes a bit of peace and time to rest, sit back and even take a look back over the past year. Here at Coron, 2023 has been a year of change, but you know what they say? Change is inevitable (except, of course, from vending machines)!
Joking aside though, with change comes challenge, and overcoming challenges is what we do best! It’s our bread and butter, overcoming the challenges of underperforming projects for other busy leaders, so you’d expect us to be able to face the odd challenge or two in our backyard! That’s why we have spent the past year identifying what needs changing at Coron Central and then we’ve changed it to optimise our operations. 2023, for us, has been living proof that our methodology works! It’s all been about getting on track and maximising performance, the Coron way.
So, what have we been up to this year and how is it going to improve our capacity to empower others to transform their underperforming projects into purposeful successes? We hope that you’ll be able to take some inspiration from some of the measures that we have taken – it is Christmas after all!
First, we relaunched our strategy
- We established our strategic objectives and our overall business strategy.
- We captured an empowering mission and vision statement for the business. Our mission is to empower people to drive sustained value and top performance into projects worldwide. Our vision is to be the foremost project management agency, influencing a million people to discover real value and create global impact.
- We identified our DRIVE values: We aspire to be Decisive, Resilient, Innovative, Visionary and Excellent. Then we rolled them out and we are living by them.
- We set out our guiding principles, customer charter, social and environmental charter, people charter and our key terms to keep the objectives on track.
- We worked closely with other business leaders, owners, coaches and mentors to plan and deliver against the strategy.
Then, we worked on our sales
- We successfully rebranded the business and established the marketing strategy with Cre8ion.
- We launched an impactful website which is supported by fortnightly insightful blogs.
- We signed new agreements with established as well as new clients.
- We leveraged existing and developed new business networks to bring more awareness to our business and its capabilities.
- We saw quarter-on-quarter increases in our revenue and had our biggest-ever quarter in terms of revenue in Q4 2023.
- We are now working on 3 new enquiries from established and potential clients in readiness for 2024.
Next, we maximised our ability to deliver
- We supported two existing clients who work across very different sectors to implement PM system improvements and deliver ongoing project management solutions.
- We added a new client to the portfolio which has brought with it a fantastic opportunity for further collaboration and new projects.
- We started to develop a cloud-based approach for managing projects based on the Microsoft 365 eco-system.
- We engaged with new associates and partners to deliver current and future projects.
- We said goodbye to some other clients, freeing up space and capacity to focus on our value proposition for new clients.
Finally, we optimised our operations
- We moved into a new office, which will make a difference to how we operate and to the community which we are part of.
- We implemented our people strategy, implemented early systems and took on our first member of staff.
- We improved our skills and knowledge by embarking on a journey of personal and professional development including NLP Practitioner, APM Project Management Qualification and AI courses.
- We leaned into the experience and capabilities of our suppliers and established several new relationships.
Maybe you are a busy managing director who needs to deliver a complex project. It’s depressing that the team doesn’t seem to be on plan, on time or on budget and there can be a real struggle to overcome the effects of overspending, staff leaving and too many mistakes. Even the current season of goodwill does little to dispel the worry cloud caused by the hundred different headaches an underperforming project throws up and the resulting tense relationship with internal leadership.
There’s no need to carry the worry of an underperforming project when you can reach out for expert help. Coron can provide excellent, competent project managers to whom projects can be safely delegated. We’ll identify what needs changing, through an adaptable collaboration so that we can inspire bold decisions that DRIVE meaningful value, measurable results and impactful benefits.
Handing the project over to project management professionals means attacking the risks of an underperforming project before they get a chance to attack you. It’s creating a safety blanket to get the project backfiring on all cylinders and achieve a higher profit margin.
With Coron project management and coaching, you can solve the problems caused by underperforming projects, restore confidence and transform your project into a purposeful success!
We believe that project management is simple. Not everyone has the right systems in place, even though they do have a project to manage. Coron quickly identifies what is missing or which systems are not being followed and manages the project in the Coron Way. We have access to enough skilled professionals to be able to parachute people in to work on a project within an existing system.
Furthermore, if you are a project management professional and you would like to become a part of our growing community of project managers, please reach out to us via our Facebook Page (and do have a look at our blog post about our community). We place the right people with the right companies and in the right projects, all to achieve the right results!
We’d like to wish all of our staff, clients, suppliers, neighbours and all those connected with Coron Projects a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
