People from all over the globe have been drawn to the paths of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. It is a network of pilgrimage routes leading to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, northwest Spain. A significant spiritual journey for over a thousand years, it became especially popular during the Middle Ages with pilgrims coming from all over Europe to pay homage. The Camino passes through a diverse range of landscapes, including mountains, forests, farmland, and picturesque villages, causing the pilgrims to drink in its natural beauty and serenity whilst remaining focused on the goal set before them. It’s the simplicity of this journey that makes it accessible to all, requiring only a good pair of walking shoes, two sets of clothing, a sun hat, sunscreen, and a walking stick, and the consistent following of the yellow arrows… day by day until you reach the famous cathedral.
Travelling the Coron Way is not much different from the Camino. This is not an exclusive journey only fit for experienced travellers, but it is achievable for anyone willing to start their project’s journey with us. At Coron, we value all our clients, regardless of the size of their business or projects. We offer project management leadership that takes you from one stop to another, guiding you along the way until you reach your final destination.
One of the greatest stress factors in life is tackling challenges alone. Even though many pilgrims start their journey on their own, they team up with new friends and acquaintances, often becoming lifelong friends from pursuing the common Camino goal. The journey that your project needs to get to its finishing line would be the common goal that our project management leadership will share with you.
We have drawn out a map with different starting points and various routes from our wealth of experience in project management, making your journey an enjoyable and adventurous one. You are much more likely to reach your destination when travelling alongside an experienced guide with local knowledge and the right information every step of the way.
Being prepared and having a plan ahead of the walk is important. Taking rests along the way and at the end of the day, reboots even the weariest soul. We weigh projects on a scale throughout the journey so that balance is maintained and longevity is gained. Coron is made up of people who understand the necessity of vision, driving us to our destination, but also the need for enjoyment and rest so that we don’t become faint before we reach the end.
One Camino traveller shared his three most valuable lessons from walking the Camino:
- Patience
Patience was taught through the repetitive 10-hour walks each day. What kept him going was focusing on the destination goal before him, keeping to the path, striving to accomplish what he set out to achieve, and keeping a positive attitude and mindset throughout the journey. - Less is more
Being presented with fewer choices, from food and clothing to hostels, taught him the beauty of contentment with less. It decluttered his life and caused him to walk with what he had, and that was enough. - Less stress
The Camino is considered a spiritual journey, even for the unbelieving or unreligious. When you let go of control, and the stress that accompanies it, you start living in the moment of the present, the ‘now’. That’s the greatest gift that every adventure offers.
Coron is in it for the long run. Projects take time and we have mastered the art of patience by setting clear goals and visions that keep us moving forward, despite the length of the journey ahead. It is the dedication to keep walking until the destination is reached, that drives us each day toward that final ‘X’ on the map.
Experience has taught us to tackle projects with the simplest solutions, yet rendering profound outcomes. It’s the simple routes that lead to the most breathtaking views. Routes that anyone can walk and goals that anyone can achieve.
Ultimately, the way you reach your destination is critical to the success of your journey. Was it enjoyable and memorable and did it add value to your life? Did roadblocks get removed and signage updated accordingly? These are important questions that every traveller should ask and answer, honestly.
As seen in the movie, ‘The Way’ by Emilio Estevez, we might start alone, but when diverse people come together around a common goal lives are transformed. We are made richer by drawing from others’ strengths and experiences. Pilgrims start their journey with only what they wear and carry but leave with bountiful, unseen treasures. When we collaborate in sharing our unique stories, skills, and experiences, it has the power to catapult one out of despair into destiny by drawing upon the wealth of others.
Whether your pathway goes up or down, through rough terrains, vineyards, streams, flat pathways, big horizons, and endless roads, we are in it together. Let us encourage you to keep going when you feel like you can’t go anymore, placing one foot in front of another. Stop and look at the sunrise and the sunset along each day’s journey of your project’s life, and remember that it is the simple joys that offer the greatest pleasures. We are here to walk with you so that you don’t have to walk alone. Patience will be our friend, less will become more, and stress will be shared and diminished.
